Gold is a globally traded commodity whose price changes daily based on international market rates, currency exchange rates, and demand and supply. The price shown on our website reflects the current day’s 22KT gold rate. Once you confirm payment, the price is locked in at that moment. We recommend placing your order as soon as you decide, since gold prices can change overnight.

HUID stands for Hallmark Unique Identification, a unique 6-digit alphanumeric code engraved on every BIS-hallmarked jewellery piece. To verify your gold’s purity, download the BIS Care App on Android or iOS, enter your HUID code, and get instant details about the jeweller, purity, and hallmarking centre. We include the HUID number on your invoice and product certificate with every order.

BIS Hallmarking is the official gold purity certification issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards, India’s national quality regulator. Since 2021, it is mandatory for all gold jewellery sold in India weighing more than 2 grams. Every hallmarked piece carries the BIS logo, purity grade (e.g. 916 for 22KT), the jeweller’s BIS licence number, and a unique 6-digit HUID code. It protects you from being sold impure gold. All jewellery at Challani Jewellery Mart is 100% BIS hallmarked.

Yes, 22KT gold is suitable for everyday wear, though it is slightly softer than 18KT. Heavier pieces like bangles and necklaces hold up very well. For thinner pieces like delicate rings, we recommend avoiding exposure to perfumes, chlorine, or harsh chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing and store each piece in a separate fabric pouch to keep it in excellent condition.

22KT gold contains 91.6% pure gold and is best for traditional jewellery like necklaces, bangles, chains, and bridal sets. It has a richer yellow colour and higher resale value. 18KT gold contains 75% pure gold and is commonly used for diamond-studded or designer pieces, as the additional alloy makes it harder and better suited for stone settings. If you are buying for tradition, investment, or resale prefer 22KT. For everyday lightweight or diamond jewellery, 18KT works better.

22KT gold means the jewellery is 91.6% pure gold. The remaining 8.4% is other metals like copper or silver, added to give the jewellery strength and durability. ‘916’ is simply a shorthand for 91.6% and is stamped on all certified 22KT pieces along with the BIS hallmark. It is the most popular gold standard for jewellery in India because it balances purity with wearability.
